Working together, to create meaningful change in South Africa’s vulnerable communities.
United Way South Africa (UWSA) promotes collaboration between all relevant stakeholders in order to leverage, aggregate, support and expand common development programmes for disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.
This August, United Way South Africa (UWSA) donated 200 care packs Siyakholwa. These care packs include a monthly supply of all the essentials needed to sustain a family of 6 for a minimum period of a month and Siyakholwa added more packs to distribute to 500 underserved families in Johannesburg’s most underserved townships.
Both UWSA and Siyakholwa have always been on the forefront in proving relief to communities affected by the COVID19 crisis and in a joint effort, they both contributed to this set of care packs with money generously donated by 3M.
United Way South Africa, the local non-profit organization that is part of the United Way global movement, has a comprehensive COVID19 Relief Programme that meets our communities’ most basic needs by providing nutritional food, fresh water, sanitation and hygiene, COVID-19 educational awareness brochures as well as PPE’s.
The Science-based technology company 3M has joined with not-for-profit organisation United Way Worldwide (UWW) to support relief projects across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) that are helping the most vulnerable people in society impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
UWSA and Siyakholwa started their care pack distribution on Friday, the 21st of August in Makausi Primrose, Germiston and Vosloorus and these distributions will continue until the 25th of August 2020.
“In a society, everyone needs each other in order to live in harmony. Change cannot happen alone” – United Way South Africa.
A special thanks to 3M for their generous donation. It is contributions like this that enables us to continue succeeding in our mission.
