United Way South Africa would like to take this opportunity to appreciate one of our partners for the generous support it has provided our beneficiaries in 2023.
In August 2023, Tshepang Care Centre in Tembisa, our beneficiary, was visited by representatives from Young Professional JHB and the Women Initiative Network (WIN) JHB, advocates and extended employees of Caterpillar Africa, Caterpillar Southern Africa & Progress Rail, who were inspired by the seed that was planted in Mum' Sarah and Patience’s heart by showing love, compassion and a yearning for the betterment of every child’s life that they encounter.
Tshepang Care Centre is situated in the midst of what “seems” like no hope of the Vusimuzi Informal Settlement and the Mooifontein Cemetery, in Tembisa. Caterpillar team was in awe of the generosity showed towards the children and community, restoring hope to the hopeless... and have since then provided care and support to the centre.
Its support was extended to another beneficiary charity called Tshegofatso Ya Rona in Kempton Park, which looks after vulnerable women and children, mostly the victims of Gender Based Violence (GBV). United Way South Africa would like to 'Thank' the Caterpillar team for the incredible support and generous gifts it has bestowed to our beneficiaries. The pictures tell the story further and we hope that this partnership will grow from strength to strength, and inspire others to do the same, to change the narrative of many disadvantaged young people of South Africa
We will not achieve much without you. Together we are stronger!
